Overview
The whole process for a divorce takes a total of 90 days. Sometimes Lincoln county is backlogged and it is taking about an extra 4-6 weeks on top of that to get it finalized. So you should count on the whole process taking a little over 4 months. (The ONLY way of avoiding this present backlog is to file in King county which requires a court appearance and I charge an extra $200.00 for that.) Every uncontested divorce processing company or lawyer who charges these types of low fees will be going through Lincoln County (population 10,000) which handles 3000-4000 divorces per year: to verify click here.
That is, from the day the Court receives your completed documents until we send in the last document. So, as a practical matter it usually take about 95 to 100 days because of mailing and the day or so that the clerk takes to process the papers once they get them. I handle all of the filing and mailing for you: your only job is to meet with me in person or by phone. A legal separation or an annulment can be completed as soon as you send in the papers because there is no 90 waiting period. (Those two are the same price by the way.)
